The Outhouse was founded in 1993 by Joy and Rich Peek as a part-time business with just 12 fiberglass toilets and a homemade service truck. By the end of the first year, the business had grown to 100 units. In 1996, we expanded our offerings with a larger truck capable of pumping septic systems, allowing us to add septic services to our portfolio.

In 2003, we introduced office and storage containers in response to customer demand, becoming a one-stop shop for portable toilets and storage solutions. Between 2005 and 2006, we acquired two smaller companies in our service area, significantly expanding our inventory and customer base.

In 2006, we launched our Comfort Elite trailer line, providing restroom trailers for weddings and corporate events. Today, The Outhouse is the leader in portable sanitation across Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. We remain committed to meeting all our customers’ needs with exceptional service and innovative solutions.
